I typically answer scam calls 1 of 3 ways

1. "This is Road Kill Grill. Straight from the interstate to your dinner plate. How can I help you?"

2. Let them go through their pitch or whatever they are scamming that day. Then I tell them, "Of course I will comply with your request (or whatever they are scamming that day), but only after you comply with my request; agree to purchase 50,000 acres of ocean side property in North Dakota for $3 million dollars. Please provide a fax number so I can send you the bill of sale to complete and return to me. Once I have the completed document and the certified check, then I will comply with your request. Otherwise, there is no reason to continue with this conversation now or in the future."

3. "Hello. This call is being recorded for legal purposes and it will be forwarded onto the appropriate law enforcement agency upon completion. How may I help you?" If it is an actual person on the other end, then I usually here a click. If it is a robocall, then it starts to play at some point during my greeting.
